The Hunt is On at City Park
February 4, 2026
City Park Conservancy (CPC) invites you to start spring with a crack.
On Sunday, March 29, 36,000 eggs will be spread throughout the New Orleans Botanical Garden for the annual Egg Scramble.
“Egg Scramble is always such a beautiful spring Sunday, and we’re so excited to expand into the Botanical Garden this year,” said CPC Director of Attractions & Visitor Services Megan Bourgault. “Families will have even more space to congregate, celebrate and – of course – hunt!”
The Botanical Garden gates open at 9am and the hunt begins at 10am. Families will enjoy live music, a petting zoo, balloon artists, face painting, photos with the Easter Bunny, and unlimited Carousel Gardens Amusement Park rides.
Tickets are $25 for ages 3 and up – children 2 and under admitted free of charge – and include all-day access to Carousel Gardens opening to the public at noon. Friends of City Park Members receive $3 off admission.
Egg Scramble is recommended for children eight years and younger. Children will be provided with bags to hold their collected eggs. A special hunting section just for toddlers will be available as well as Bloody Marys and mimosas for purchase for parents.
City Park facilities are cashless. All purchases must be made with credit, debit, or digital payments. By purchasing a ticket, guests support the continued care of the Park’s 1,300 acres. For more information, and to purchase tickets, click here.
