Boats and bikes can be rented daily year-round (weather permitting). A photo ID must be presented for the person renting the bike or boat. An adult 18 years of age or older must accompany minors to sign the rental waiver and provide photo ID. There is a discounted rate of 20% off for Friends of City Park Members and Season Pass Holders.
Park visitors can rent a range of cycles and watercraft including cruiser bikes, tandem bikes, kids bicycles, swan pedal boats, kayaks and the iconic four-wheel surrey from Wheel Fun Rentals. After sunset, visitors can experience the magic of the Park after dark with LED-illuminated Swan Boat Night Rides.
Enjoy an authentic, Venetian gondola ride through City Park’s bayous and lagoons from NOLA Gondola. NOLA Gondola offers private, 50-minute tours for two to six people.
From boating to birding, Big Lake is a highlight of City Park. At every turn, you’ll find something to love: a hiking, biking and walking trail; native birds; the Pump House; the lake’s fountain, which shoots water 40 feet into the air; the Louisiana Trail dotted with trees representing our state’s seven distinct tree regions; a perfect spot for picnicking. Take your time, explore all of the nooks and crannies around Big Lake, and come back for more as often as you like!
