NOLA City Bark is a 4.6‑acre, keycard‑access dog park designed with your four‑legged family members in mind. With plenty of room to run, play, and socialize, it’s the perfect place for dogs to burn off energy while safely enjoying off‑leash freedom. Dog park hours are Wednesday through Monday 5:30am–9pm, and Tuesdays from 3–9pm.
To ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all visitors, park access requires a permit. Dogs must be at least six months old, spayed or neutered, heartworm‑negative, and up to date on Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella vaccinations. Proof of vaccination is required.
Membership & Permit Requirements
To help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy experience for all visitors, access to NOLA City Bark requires a permit.

Before purchasing a permit, please review the NOLA City Bark Rules. NOLA City Bark is a permit-only dog park, and all members are expected to follow park rules. Failure to comply may result in suspension or revocation of your permit.
Free Foster Dog Permits
City Park is proud to support local foster families by offering free one-month foster permits. These permits provide foster dogs with access to a safe and engaging space where they can exercise, socialize, build confidence, and thrive while waiting for their forever homes.
Who can use NOLA City Bark?
NOLA City Bark is a permit-only facility. Only active permit holders and their registered dogs may enter the park using a valid keycard. Permit holders may not grant access to individuals who do not have an active permit and keycard.
What are the requirements for my dog to receive a permit?
Dogs must be at least six months old, spayed or neutered, heartworm-negative, healthy, and current on Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella vaccinations. Dogs must also wear a collar with current rabies tags, and proof of vaccination is required for both new and renewal permits.
Are children allowed inside NOLA City Bark?
Children under the age of 8 are not permitted inside the dog park. Children ages 8 to 17 may enter only when accompanied by an adult member and should not interact with other dogs without the owner’s permission. Children under 18 may not be left unattended.
How many dogs can I bring at one time?
A maximum of three dogs per household may be inside the fenced dog park at one time.
Are treats, toys, or food allowed in the dog park?
Dog treats, rawhide chews, human food, and glass containers are not permitted. Dog toys are generally prohibited, with the exception of balls and Frisbees.
What items are prohibited in the park?
Prohibited items include spike, choke, prong, and electronic collars; food and treats; most dog toys; bicycles, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, drones, and strollers; as well as tobacco products, alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, and firearms.
How can I check the status of my NOLA City Bark permit?
You can view your permit status and digital access pass anytime through the City Park Portal. Simply log in using your primary email address associated with your annual pass. View the step-by-step instructions.
Can I transfer my dog’s permit to another dog?
No. NOLA City Bark permits are non-refundable and non-transferable and are valid only for the dog(s) listed on the permit application. Permits may not be shared, reassigned, or transferred to another dog.
Can I add another dog to my existing permit?
Each dog must have its own permit and meet all eligibility requirements, including vaccination and health requirements. To add an additional dog to your current permit, please contact the Membership team at [email protected] or 504-483-9380.
What if I move or my contact information changes?
Please notify City Park as soon as possible to ensure your account information remains current and you continue to receive important permit and park communications.
Can multiple people use the same NOLA City Bark permit?
No. NOLA City Bark permits are issued for specific dog(s) and owner account(s) and may not be shared between households. To ensure accurate records and maintain the safety and security of the park, each household must obtain its own permit. Permit holders may not share access with individuals who do not reside in their household or who are not listed on the permit account.
Can I share my dog’s permit with a friend or family member?
No. Permits are non-transferable and valid only for the dog(s) and owner account associated with the permit. Sharing permits or providing access to unauthorized individuals may result in suspension or revocation of park privileges.
What should I do if a dog fight or injury occurs?
If a person is injured, call City Park Police immediately at 504-421-9307. In the event of a canine altercation, safely exchange contact information, document details about the incident, leave the park, and report the incident to City Park using the Incident Report Form.
What happens if I do not follow the rules?
NOLA City Bark is a permit-only facility. Failure to follow park rules, misuse of keycard access, or behavior that jeopardizes the safety of visitors and pets may result in the suspension or revocation of dog park privileges.
Is there a mobile app where I can access my NOLA City Bark access pass?
We’re currently developing the app and look forward to launching it soon. Check back for updates as we work to provide a seamless mobile experience for our members.
