City Park Conservancy values the input and voices of our youth community (15-25 age group). In July 2023, CPC began a process to develop a new plan that will transform City Park to better serve everyone in the New Orleans region.
Far too often youth voices are missing from the community engagement and planning processes. Therefore, we have created the Ideas Youth Committee composed of representatives from a diverse selection of community youth organizations and educational institutions throughout the city of New Orleans.
The Ideas Youth Committee:
Ideas Youth Committee members will attend one kick-off meeting and three co-design meetings where participants are guided through a series of interactive engagement activities used to collect and incorporate youth feedback directly into the City Park Plan.
Meetings are scheduled for the following days at City Park:
In addition to the Ideas Youth Committee meetings, CPC encourages all youth to participate in future community engagement meetings taking place through June of 2025.
All participating Ideas Youth Committee members receive a Friends of City Park Family Membership (valued at $85; good for one year), a Carousel Gardens Amusement Park Family Season Pass (valued at $265; good for one year), and six (6) tickets to the 2024 Celebration in the Oaks experience (valued at $210).
