  • Battle for the Bass – Student fishing competition grades 6-12
  • Boats on the Bayou – Bayou St. John fishing competition for kayakers and other non-motorized vessels
  • Cichlid + Bream Trim – Teams of up to five compete for heaviest 15 stringer of bream, cichlids, and perch
  • Fishtival – Free festival featuring DJ, food, wildlife exhibits, crafts, games, activities, and new and used fishing gear for sale at great prices

EVENT INFO

What time can I start fishing?
Fishing starts at 6:30am. If you have pre-registered online and received your wristband, no need to check in. You can start fishing at any time prior to 11am. Boats on the Bayou category starts fishing at 7am.

What time does the weigh station close?
The weigh station closes at 11am, but you must be in the weigh station line before 11am to present a fish to the weigh master. Fish must be alive when presenting to the weigh master. Boats on the Bayou category weigh station closes at 10:30am.

Where food and beverage be available for purchase?
Yes, chips, cookies and jambalaya will be available for purchase as well as soft drinks and water.

What happens if it rains?
This is a rain-or-shine event.

Big Bass Rodeo/Battle for the Bass:
Ages 12 and under – $10
Ages 13 and above – $20 

Boats on the Bayou:
Online registration – $35
Day of registration – $45

Can I register the day of the event?
Yes, on-site registration begins at Popp Bandstand at 6:30am. 

PARKING

The Tricentennial parking lot is located right across the street from Popp Bandstand. Additional street parking is available throughout the Park.
