Oscar J. Tolmas Visitor Center - New Orleans City Park

Oscar J. Tolmas Visitor Center

The Oscar J. Tolmas Center is the entrance for Storyland, Carousel Gardens, and the New Orleans Botanical Garden. It is also a visitor center and a gift shop.

Visit for information on the Park, attractions, and events. During business hours, visitors may stop in to purchase snacks and drinks as well as use public bathrooms.

The facility was dedicated to Oscar J. Tolmas, a New Orleans native born in 1920, who formed the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust. Mr. Tolmas was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a Veteran of WWII, attorney and real estate developer, but horse racing was his passion. In his last will and testament, he formed the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust to help other tax-exempt charitable organizations with their mission of helping others. His legacy and generosity will live on in the hearts of many.
